About Us
Santerre Show Stables
Santerre Show Stables was founded in 2006 by Jean-François Santerre.
We are focusing primarily on quality hunter, jumper and equitation horses.
We are a full service stable who provides training, boarding, showing and sales. We also offer personalized scouting trips to Europe and imports; to either find our customer their ideal mount or an investment prospect.
To this day, we have train and selected several horses that are currently competing at the higher level, including Grand Prix in Wellington as well as Champions of the working hunters at prestigious shows such as the Pennsylvania National.
Jean-François Santerre
Jean-François Santerre is a French Canadian who has a natural ability to work with horses. Following his passion for horses, he started his riding career at an early age and was successful from the beginning winning awards and championships.
Santerre became a professional equestrian trainer following his time learning from top level riders and breeders throughout Europe and North America. Thanks to those opportunities he was able to develop a personal “dictionary” to assess the qualities required for competitive horses.
Santerre was able to open his own business coaching riders, training horses and importing horses from Europe for resale in North America.
Santerre has competed at the Grand Prix level with success. In addition, several of the horses selected by Santerre are currently competing at top levels: either in the Grand Prix Ring or in some of the most prestigious Hunter classes in North America.
Santerre is known for taking the time with students and clients to ensure their mounts are compatible with them. His caring demeanor has enabled him match numerous equestrians with their mounts for considerable success.
Santerre’s efficient but soft approach produces lasting results and is often sought after by many riders and investors.
In the Winter of 2013, Santerre competed at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, Florida - impressively placing in the competitive young jumper classes.
Santerre will now base his business from Orangeville, Ontario.
